Mint NorthStar Cube, Room 2 - I Pick This One

The Room 2 Navigation Cube lets you set up an additional area in your home for Mint to clean without having to move the Cube that came with Mint. Great for conveniently setting cleaning areas on a first and second floor, in a bedroom and living room on the same floor or even two ends of a large, open area.
To use with Mint, simply place the Room 2 Cube near the middle of a second area of your home you'd like to clean while leaving the Cube that comes with Mint in the first area. Mint will lock on to the nearest Cube. When Mint is done cleaning, simply move it to the other Cube and start it again to clean the second area. It's okay if the cleaning areas of the two Cubes overlap, as Mint will not transition from one area to the other while cleaning.

Important addition for multi-room cleaning

I bought the Mint Plus a while back and although the product worked well - it can't navigate from room to room - and sometimes when the room has a complicated layout the Mint Plus has difficulties figuring out where to clean. So I got two of these and in conjunction with the primary cube that came with the Mint Plus, I set up the cubes in three different spots - and the Mint Plus has not have any problem ever since.
Now, regarding some comments that a second or third cube does not work - do keep in mind that the cubes are unlikely to automatically lock on to the Mint Plus right away after you turn on the Mint Plus. In fact, it takes 5 mins before the Mint Plus locks on to all the cubes (and usually they do so one at a time, depending on how far apart they are). So don't panic if the cubes do not lock on as advertised and the Mint Plus continues to mop the floor as if nothing had happened - it will lock to the cubes eventually! Having said that, be sure to place the cubes on the table as you don't want the robot to start hitting it and messing up the room mapping. Also, be sure that all the cubes are positioned in such way that each cubes have a clear view of the ceiling - as the Mint Plus supposedly uses the ceiling as a means to communicate with each cubes (probably by bouncing off IR signals). This means that if you place the cubes too far apart, to the extent that the signals bounced off the ceiling from the cube never reaches the Mint Plus, it may never lock on (and this may have been the problem faced by some of the customers who bought the cube). The more complicated the house layout, the more cubes you'll need. Ultimately, you'll have to experiment with different cube positioning so be patient - it took me a few tries to get it to work but once I figured it out, it works very well ever since!
Definitely a good addition to the Mint Cleaner

I definitely recommend the second room navigation cube - as this has allowed the Mint to go from one room to the other to clean a large space. This is much easier than taking the single cube from room to room.
Doesn't work for me

I thought this extra cube would allow me to send my dearly beloved Mint into two separate rooms. That, apparently, is not the case unless at some point Mint can see both of the cubes. I live in a mid-century house with small bedrooms off a central hallway. There's no way I can get the cubes to communicate. The second cube was a waste of money, but I still LOVE the Mint. Best thing that ever happened to wood and tile floors.
