Bissell CleanView Helix Deluxe, 21K3 – The Bissell Cleanview Helix Deluxe vacuum is a fully featured vacuum that is great for total home cleaning.  With the exclusive Helix Separation System and a variety of easy to use tools, you can clean both carpeting and hard floors as well as stairs, furniture and other hard to reach areas. The unique Helix System captures dirt and other debris for even greater performance, whether you’re cleaning carpets or bare floors.  It does this by using the internal “ribs” incorporated into the Easy Empty Dirt Container to force large dirt particles, dust and other debris down to the bottom of the tank…where they belong!  This helps the vacuum to work more effectively, longer. This Deluxe version of the Bissell CleanView features an air flow indicator, which continuously monitors air flow to let you know if a clog occurs.  This vacuum also offers a 15” wide cleaning path to reach more dirt and a 3-year limited warranty.

For maximum cleaning performance, check and clean/replace all filters as suggested in the user’s guide (approximately every 6 months)

After owning Eurekas for over 30 years, I decided to try this Bissell when my latest Eureka died. I did quite a bit of research and liked many of the features for this machine. I also liked the pricetag of $99.99. The main selling point for me was the "extra long power cord". I live in a medium-small apartment and the cord on my last two Eurekas was just about 3 feet too short. The cord on this Bissell is at least 5 feet SHORTER than that. The suction is fine; as you'd expect from any brand new vacuum but the dust cup is quite small and needed to be emptied several times (like, 5 or 6) while I was vacuuming my apartment. With my old Eureka, I just emptied it when I was finished with the job. We do have three cats that contribute to the problem. My favorite thing about this Bissell is the handle on the hose. It detaches very easily and the extension wand is handy and clicks in place.

I'd say, if you don't have pets and you don't mind changing outlets mid-job and dumping the dust cup at least once every room, then you might like this vacuum cleaner. I think when I buy my next vacuum cleaner, I'll go back to the Eurekas.

UPDATE: After 3 weeks of using this machine, I hate, hate, HATE it!!! I would like to change it's rating to a 1/2 star because it is a pretty color. That's the best thing about this vacuum. Pushing this thing around is like pushing a car with 4 flat tires. Dumping the filter cup multiple times each time I use it, changing outlets in the middle of the job (a small apartment)and thoroughly washing the foam filter and cylindrical filter after every single use adding another 15 minutes to a chore that I dislike. If you think you want one of these vacuums, you can have mine!!

This is a great vacuum. I don't have much carpet, but after seeing how much I picked up on the rug I vacuumed the whole house on the bare floor setting. The hose is also super easy to use and great for getting the hair in the tight spaces between the kitchen table and chair legs. I have two large dogs and keeping my floors clean is so much easier. Also, the visual reminder of how much I'm collecting is a real incentive to vacuum more frequently.

From Dyson to Bissell

I previously had a Dyson. Forgot the exact model #, but it was the purple one for pet hair. I wanted something reliable and that is good with suction, as I have 5 kids that do their share of spilling and dumping and eating and so on. I ordered this vacuum from Amazon Thursday. My Dyson had died, so I REALLY needed a good replacement! It arrived Saturday. I love Amazon Prime, but as soon as it arrived, I tore it open and put it together which took all of about 5 minutes. I vacuumed right away. I didn't think the floors were all that dirty. They are only a few months old too. I vacuumed all the rooms on the medium setting. The suction was great and loved everything about the machine! I finished, then opened the cup to empty it. It was truly disgusting! I never, ever had even half of the amount from my Dyson!! This vacuum is a winner with me and I hope it serves me longer than my Dyson did which was 6 years.
