Problems after one month

I ordered this toaster from Amazon.com Sept 27th 2012. It was delivered Oct 1st and we are experiencing
problems after a month and a half of use ! Amazon is saying my time to return this expired on
Nov 1st so now I have to contact the manufacturer re: the warranty.
the coils are no longer toasting on both sides and some of the coils are not heating at all.
This is very disappointing as I thought cuisinart was a good brand and not cheap!
Failed to lift the toast shortly after I began using it.

I was hesitant to purchase something that has a motorized lift system for a device this simple but did so due to the great reviews it received. It did work pretty well, but not quite as good as the less expensive and simpler Oster TSSTTRWF4S I finally ended up with. After a short period of use, the lift system on the right side failed to lift and seemed to have a minor jam. I moderately banged the unit and the toast raised. I returned it shortly thereafter

This makes toaster #4 that I have tried and still it is just another china made piece of crap!!! Seem everyone wants to incude all kinds of bells and whistles but nobody cares what kind of toast you get!! The biggest problem with this one is the settings. I like a light to med toast, my wife likes med toast. Put one side on 2 setting and the other on 3. The toast comes out to dark on 3 and to light on 2 so there is no way of changing to anything in-between. And same as the other four toasters I tried some of the coils do not get red and does not toast even. I think all the toasters now must be made from the same chinese company as they are all the same. My old Cuisinart that is on its very last leg still does a better job of toasting than any of the new ones I have tried ( and I have looked at the coils in it and they all get red). I think I will have to look into a commercial toaster or something!!
