After a year this fan is still blowing without any strange noises or rattling, and I haven't cleaned it yet. I bought a second one and it behaves exactly the same. Occasionally they both speed up and down a little bit, as if there were some type of airflow sensor in it. Normally it remains a nice constant white noise good for sleeping to.

I liked this so much I ended buying a second one. The price was low and is quiet and I have never had to use it on high. If I did it would be too cold. Highly recommended.

Good design..with ergonomic controls...and small footprint...can't go wrong...I'll probably get one more, just in case, as the price is right....
