I'm not sure about some of the other reviews but I have the dyson DC14 vac for animals (purple) and the hose fit perfectly. I used the hose to replace part # Hose - 908474-37. It was much more cost effective than purchasing one directly from dyson. I was fearful to order it because in previous reviews some people had said it didn't fit. I think the the DC14 parts may differ slightly depending on what it was for. Ours was the animal one and it fits great!

I ordered this hose because it was the cheapest replacement I could find on amazon. Well, "you get what you pay for". Even though I ordered the replacement for my exact model number, the new hose was too long, and therefore, didn't fit. It took considerable effort to lock it into position on the vacuum. Once in position, it didn't easily detach, so using the hose function was not an option. Thank goodness for Amazon's awesome return policy, because I was able to easily print a return receipt and send it back. Just received my authentic Dyson replacement hose and it works great.

Ordered Dyson aftermarket Vacuum hose assembly to replace the factory original after the power cord hook broke off.

The product arrived and installed very easily. Used it once. The hose worked great for regular use and with the floor attachment. However when attaching the small brush directly to the hose, the hose came apart at the end where the hose connects to the brush. The design is similar the factory hose but the small tabs that attach the adapter to the hose don't hold the pieces together on this aftermarket item. This makes it impossible to use the the small brush for close in vacuuming. Bought this item on Amazon from Killdirt.

The product arrived in grey, which matched our Dyson better than the pictured yellow. The hose seemed sturdy but didn't work for us.
